18–22 January 2027 Small chats. Big difference.
January is one of the loneliest months of the year. After the rush of Christmas, many people feel disconnected — but a simple “hello” can change someone’s day. Get Britain Chatting Week is a national movement led by The Chatty Café Scheme, inviting everyone to spark small moments of connection that make a big impact.
For five days, people across the country will take part in simple, everyday actions that help Britain feel a little warmer, kinder, and more connected. Whether it’s saying hello at the bus stop, taking a 10‑minute connection break at work, or visiting a local Chatter & Natter table, every small chat helps someone feel seen and valued.
This is a week for all of us — workplaces, communities, friends, families, and strangers — to come together and make January brighter.
