About Newmarket Day Centre and Orangery Cafe

We are an independent charity and community hub. The charity’s objectives are to provide facilities for both physical and mental recreation and to pursue any objects deemed to be charitable for the benefit of elderly people in the Newmarket area who need such facilities.

With our Client Care, we continue to find ways of helping people with some degree of dementia as well as providing services for clients which often gives carers valuable respite. We run a daily Hot meal delivery service plus Chiropody, Bathing Facilities, Hearing clinic, free drop-in clinic to help with signposting to meet our client’s needs.

The charity believes in and promotes the importance of maintaining a high quality of life in older age. We aim to combat loneliness and depression, support independence and social inclusion and retain self-worth.

We run several afternoon activities during the week, and we host events during the month including musical days, chair yoga, therapy dogs and local school choirs. We hope our clients feel less isolation at home as well as promoting their wellbeing and our volunteers and giving job satisfaction to staff.

We also have a Cafe called the Orangery open to the general public that currently hosts a number of small groups during the week (ie: an Solo walking club, Bridge Club etc)

If you would like to volunteer to help host a Chatter & Natter table at this venue, apply here.
