About Cwmni Cymunedol Cletwr
Cletwr is a community owned shop and Cafe situated just off a busy main road (A487) between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. We are a non-profit organisation who aims to provide a hub for local residents to come and socialise and make use of the services we offer. Our shop stocks a range of produce from local suppliers and well known Welsh suppliers to offer a full range of convenience items, with a chance to purchase items of a more luxury nature if wanted. We also offer newspapers and a large range of books for sale, including our library that can be found in our cafe area.
Our busy cafe is very popular with locals and tourists, offering a wide range of hot and cold food with a regular specials board, drinks ranging from our popular pumpkin spiced lattes in the Autumn to a lovely pot of warming tea, cold drinks and a delicious range of cakes, baked fresh in our kitchen, can also be purchased.
We have regular exhibitions on show in our Cafe with information about the artist and prints available for sale. We also have many groups that meet at Cletwr, like our weekly Knit and Natter group for example, that visitors are more than welcome to join in with.
We have plenty of seating available indoors with a 'Cwtch' area that is a little more private if needed, and a childrens play area with a range of toys and books to choose from. Our spacious onsite carpark also has a car charging port for any visitors travelling here via electric vehicles.
Our shop and cafe is run by a range of paid and volunteer staff members. We also offer low hour paid contracts to young members of our community to assist them in building up their work experience to give them the best chance for the future, and teaching them vital life skills in a gentle and patient way.
