About The Nook Coffee & Crafts
The Nook – Coffee & Crafts is a small, independent community coffee shop designed to be a warm, welcoming and inclusive space for everyone. We are proudly dementia-friendly and dog-friendly, with a calm, cosy atmosphere where people feel comfortable staying, chatting, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with a drink.
Our coffee shop was created with connection at its heart. We actively encourage conversation and community, whether that’s through our Chatty Café table, informal coffee and chat sessions, book clubs, craft groups, or simply by offering a friendly face and a listening ear. Many of our customers are carers, older adults, people living with dementia, parents, and individuals who may otherwise feel isolated.
In addition to serving good-quality drinks and simple food, we host a wide range of low-pressure, inclusive activities such as knitting and crochet groups, creative workshops, children’s craft clubs, and dementia-friendly sessions. These activities are designed to bring people together, build confidence, and create a sense of belonging.
At The Nook, we believe that a conversation over a cup of tea or coffee can make a real difference. Joining the Chatty Café Scheme aligns perfectly with our values and our ongoing commitment to tackling loneliness and helping people feel seen, heard, and connected within their local community.
