Lydia’s Tearoom

Foxdenton Park, Foxdenton Ln, Middleton, Chadderton, Manchester OL9 9QS, UK

About Lydia’s Tearoom

Lydia’s Tearoom is named after Lydia Becker who’s family used to live at Foxdenton Hall. Lydia was a famous Suffragist who mentored the Pankhurst family. She also created Manchester based women’s Suffragists literature and communicated with Charles Darwin due to her keen interest in botany. Lydia’s Tearoom is run by volunteers on behalf of Chadderton Together who are a registered charity. A long term aim on Chadderton Together is to restore Foxdenton Hall in order to bring it back into daily community use. The cafe is situated in an old bowling pavilion that Chadderton Together completely restored before it opened as Lydia’s Tearoom during JuneĀ  2021.

If you would like to volunteer to help host a Chatter & Natter table at this venue, apply here.
