About Chadwell Library

Chadwell library is a part of the Chadwell Information Centre, which opened on 18 March 2002. It incorporates the community-led Chadwell-St-Mary Centre.

There is 1 public toilet, which has access for disabled people.

The library originally opened in its current premises on 8 December 1964, replacing a smaller building in the nearby shopping parade, which had opened in January 1937.

As a Chatty Cafe venue, Chadwell Library becomes a hub for connection, bringing people together for friendly conversation in a safe, inclusive and familiar setting.

We sell hot drinks and biscuits.

If you are not already a library member, it is free to join. You will have access to over seven million books, free computer access, e-books, audiobooks, puzzles, and a variety of groups and events.

Free parking is available.

If you would like to volunteer to help host a Chatter & Natter table at this venue, apply here.
