A few developments to share with you

Posted on 6 July 2017

A lot can happen in a few months so here is what we have been doing with ourselves.  We met with the lovely Rotary Club who not only know how to put on a good spread but are also enthusiastic and committed to making communities better. We are meeting again in a few weeks to discuss how we can work together in Saddleworth.

We had a fantastic tour of Madhlo in Oldham (Oldham spelt backwards) which is a youth hub for the borough. To say it was buzzing is an understatement, it was vibrant, bustling and noisy with excited children and young people. We are SO proud that they will be running Chatter & Natter tables and think this is the start of something special. After all, young people are just as likely to experience loneliness and isolation as our older population. The aim of this scheme is that its completely inter-generational.

What else…. Tameside Hospital called and the lovely Kathryn said they are getting brilliant feedback about the tables they are running and that staff are taking the sign round the maternity wards so new mums become familiar with it. AMAZING 🙂

Finally we just wanted to massively SHOUT OUT to Start Point in Woodley, Stockport for tweeting a photo of their Chatter & Natter table with the caption ‘Our Chatty café was standing room only this morning’ What can we say except WE LOVE THIS!

Oh and one last thing… thank you to Oldham Council who have really got behind us. They are a cooperative council and we are feeling the love from them right now. Watch this space for developments 🙂 🙂

Bye for now and thanks everyone x
