Update (and lots of thanks)

Posted on 17 November 2017

As the title says we’ve got a lot to update you on and we are pleased to say that its all good 🙂

Tameside Council has given us some immense coverage by telling Council and health staff all about us and they have also sent out information to residents. Oldham Council has also been fantastic, putting an article about us in the local Borough Life which goes into all residents homes. We want to say THANK YOU to both Councils for supporting us, it means a lot and if this thing gets anywhere then we will be telling all who will listen how you have both encouraged and helped with this new way of reducing loneliness.

In other news we have had a huge number of emails following some publicity that went out via the Jo Cox Campaign where we were featured as a way for communities to beat loneliness together. Amazing – thank you!

Costa Community have been incredible, from the day we emailed them (never expecting a reply!) they have just got us and what we are trying to do. Not mentioning any names in case we shouldn’t but lets just say one lady has been championing us from the start and has been spreading the word. (Thank you 🙂 ) We think there could be some exciting developments with this so watch this space!

We have got lots of Chatter & Natter tables starting all over the UK from Wales to Cleveland, Northwich to Inverclyde, this movement is spreading and we hope that the more people become familiar with what its all about, the more people will sit at the tables and interact.

Finally, this week has also been slightly surreal due to Sky News getting in touch. One of the presenters Kay Burley (391.4k twitter followers) yes you did read that, wants to cover our story. So on Monday 20th November we will be travelling down to London to go ‘on air’!. If it all goes to plan then we will be on Sky News at 3.30pm on 20.11.17

This movement is going to make a difference – to mums and babies (anyone with babies), carers and who they care for, individuals, professionals, older adults, younger adults and anyone in between. We are working on a modern day approach to tackling loneliness and with all the amazing stuff that’s been happening in the last few weeks – maybe we can do it.
